Two tenure-track positions – Social/Cultural Anthropology, SOAS, University of London

The Department of Anthropology at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, has two open positions.


American/Canadian colleagues: “Lecturer” positions in the UK are equivalent to assistant/early associate professor. These are full-time, permanent (i.e., tenure-track) jobs. 


1. Lecturer in Anthropology: Topic/Area open – Teaching and research interests in one or more of the following that would support, supplement and complement existing specialisms in the department, particularly: anthropology of development, migration and diaspora, and/or gender. – Area open, but should fall within a region within the SOAS mission — Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and their diasporas https://www.jobs.ac.uk/job/BWX392/lecturer-in-social-anthropologynb the salary range listed is in error – this should be corrected shortly
2. Lecturer in Anthropology: Anthropology of Gender – Teaching and research interests must include the anthropology of gender, as well as ability to make major contribution to core theory modules in social/cultural anthropology at the undergraduate and MA level – Area open, but should fall within a region within the SOAS mission — Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and their diasporas https://www.jobs.ac.uk/job/BWX648/lecturer-in-social-anthropology
