Job opening for a Cambodian researcher (SOREMA Society, Resistance, Malaria programme)

The French Public Institute for Research and Development (IRD) is recruiting for the SOREMA (Society, Resistance, Malaria) academic interdisciplinary program a Cambodian researcher for a period of one year (the period can be negotiated). The overall research entitled “Public Interventions and Health Inequalities in Recomposed Natural and Social Ecosystems of the Mekong Sub-Region” is located three main provinces (Mondolkiri, Kampot, Koh Kong).

The national applicant, female or male, will contribute to the sub-tasks consisting in:

–          conducting enquiries with health providers, pharmaceutical companies and laypersons

–          understanding mechanisms of drugs procurement and distribution from national to local levels

The applicant is expected to:

–          be fluent in English (or French)

–          hold a degree in Public Health, Health Economic, Social Sciences or a diploma in Pharmacy

–          be in position to conduct fieldwork in remote malaria endemic areas

–          write research documents
